This is a book kids can really get intoDec 05, 2007

I teach sixth grade and I'm always on the lookout for books that reach a wide range of readers. This book does just that. It's perfect for kids that are seeking to learn about how the things they see and use everyday work: computers, bridges, boats, and the Internet just to name a few. The interactive nature of the book makes it engaging for even the most reluctant reader. A popular page for students in my class is page 33 - which has a fold-out timeline of the history of the cellphone. Imagine their surprise when they learned the first hand-held cellphone cost $3,995 in 1983!
