This was a Christmas gift for a friend who was moving to Nashville. He has really enjoyed both the pictures and the information. The book is a beautiful edition and most informative.

I was in Nashville last November and couldn't find an illustrated history of the city that I would find worth buying. This book turned out to be the best option: it includes all the major buildings (State Capitol, Parthenon,...) and neighborhoods, shows you the city as it was yesterday and as it is today, and the text is very informative. I bought other books in this series, and I find all of them well worth the few dollars they cost. They are a good compromise between a picture book with nice color pictures but no information, and a history book with only black and white pictures.
