This is my second purchase of this fantastic set of books and the ME reader. I gave the first to my grandson and my best friend loved it so much that she asked me about it so I purchased her grandson a set as well. That says it all. Both boys are 4 and love to "read" their Thomas books.

My 2-year old loves these. I know it says for age 4 and up. But my baby boy loves Thomas and books. He obviously can't read yet but he's fasinated by the pictures - he points at all the trains and different characters like the farm animals etc. In some way I find Thomas books very boring - LOL after all it's always just the trains - but somehow my son finds the stories interesting and he doesn't seem to get bored with it at all! He'd pick out a book from the set and makes me read to him every chance he gets. It's to the point that I have to hide them so I can do something else! He also started to figure out how to push the buttons on the electronic reader. I think this set will last him a long time. Worth every penny!

I purchased this set of books for my son for Christmas. As with most boxes tossed in the Christmas mess, the box the books and reader came in was thrown out. The reader itself is cheap and worked for about 2 minutes. Now, it plays one page and then turns to fuzz. The only way to stop the fuzz is to remove the batteries. Even with brand new batteries, the unit does not work. I called customer service and they refuse to do anything without the ISDN number from the box. They say that is proof of purchase and won't accept anything else. I even offered to send them the actual reader to fix or replace, but they said no. We had good experience with Publication International's customer service in the past, but this is unacceptable. Why is the serial number stamped on the actual product not good enough? Do they really expect a customer to keep the packaging for more than a day? If they sell a cheap piece of junk, they should be ready for the complaints and have a better system for returns/replacements. The books themselves are also pretty flimsy and probably won't hold up to normal toddler handling. DO NOT BUY!!!
